Casa Snowapple Open Call Photography and Lens-based Media Residency 2025
(M)otherhood* & Ecofeminism
*(M)otherhood: “otherhood” as in reimagining the role of caretakers, not necessarily mothers in a traditional sense.
About Casa Snowapple Mx
Casa Snowapple Mx opened its doors in 2021 to offer national and international artists the necessary time and space away from their usual obligations to research, develop, produce and share new creative and cultural work.
Casa Snowapple Mx is created and run by women. We are an inclusive house where everybody is equal and where we offer the opportunity to expand the national and international community of artists, creatives, musicians and the public through intimate gatherings such as concerts, conferences, artistic residencies, well being activities, dance and more.

General information
We have multiple guests during the year, so the common areas can be used by several people staying at the Casa simultaneously.
Our intention is to support the artists and provide them with a safe, pleasant and functional space to focus on the development of their work, surrounded by an atmosphere of sisterhood, respect, creativity and quietness, in our beautiful space, full of nature and calm.
Once we have received your information and proposal, we will evaluate all the relevant details, if necessary, we will conduct a virtual meeting.
Art, gender and creation
As well as being a space for the arts and creativity, the Casa is committed to being a gender-inclusive safe space. In Mexico, as in many countries, women and genderqueer people can face violence and discrimination. It can be a challenge to find your voice, let alone raise it. The Casa stands by the goal of fearless flow of ideas and creative self-expression and hopes to help build a community of support amongst fellow artists across borders.
Thanks for applying!
